fredrik and i went to the naturhistoriska riksmuseet (the swedish museum of natural history)... www.nrm.se
i think it's great that the museums here are free...
i remember this one time i went to the ROM... www.rom.on.ca
i understand that i DID see the special lord of the rings exhibit... but at the end of the day... i ended up spending $40... and i didn't even eat museum food! i had street meat...
anyways... the naturhistoriska riksmuseet was pretty good... plenty of fun... lots of learning...
i also realized that i can read some basic swedish... i'm pretty proud of myself on that... now if only i can get over the shyness of speaking to other ppl... i'm slowly trying out my swedish with fredrik... lots of stuff he's still going "what did you say??"
i've really wanted to go to the almgren sidenväveri (almgren's silkweaving mill & museum)... www.kasiden.se
i tried to go 3 years ago but i got lost so i kinda gave up looking for it... i've only recently started getting a grasp of directions in stockholm... and last summer the place was closed for repairs or something...
we want to go check out the places with viking stuff... we're hoping to go to birka www.raa.se/birka_eng/index.asp this summer... it was rather unfortunate that last summer was so rainy and full of crappy weather...
we went to a renaissance festival... and i found out about nålbindning... known as "needle binding"... www.regia.org/naalbind.htm
i want to try it out one day... it looked rather interesting... and the woman at the festival explained that it was much sturdier than knitting or crochet...
this coming weekend we're gonna go on the "metal boat"... metalbaten.se
the metal festival on a boat... should be interesting... makes me think of the finnish dude in the köln hostile... ***ambient music***
