knit graffiti

i was browsing through the anti craft site yesterday...
and i came across their pole warmer... tutorial...
i've read about knit graffiti before... and i was interested but never did anything about it... the idea was eventually forgotten till yesterday...
and i've decided that i'm going to make some pole warmers...
fredrik's reply to my decision was "why?"
well... poles need to be warm... and after looking at an assortment of utility posts and sign posts... i realized that the knit graffiti artists have something going on...
it's not as lasting as tagging... and frankly i've seen some god awful tags... and it does add a nice to touch to some things...
not to mention... with the coming cold weather... there are some lonely poles that need to be warmed up...
and i plan on taking this knit graffiti to the places i will go... ie in december i'll be going to detroit and montreal...
i'm looking to keep a scrapbook of my work... hopefully this will be an ongoing project i will actually stick to...
i think i will start with the street sign pole on the corner of my house... my parents may wonder what the hell it's about... and i will explain it to them like i explained to fredrik... "poles need to be warm..."
the goal is to make it on wednesday at the stitch 'n bitch denise, tara and i are going to... and it will be up on the pole with a photo taken by thursday afternoon...
